The Crafter's Cafe Challenge 61

This was a real challenge for me as it was supposed to be a steampunk nature.  After looking at them on the web,. seeing so many different types, decided to go with the digi from a sponsor this week we all know well.  "Bugaboo"  and a stamp called "Moustache Guy"  Don't ask why, but when looking through all the stamps, this one came at me to do.

Used Gina K White base weight, Dark Chocolate, and the cogs paper is another digi item from paper printables.   Had a time finding paper.

The two steel brads were a gift long ago from a friend.  Thanks Karen.

Markers:  Twin Touch BR116, BR115, BR113, BR99, Y223, CG3, CG4, CG5.  and a spica pen in gold for the watch.
It may or not be steampunk, but here it is. Completely simple, cas which is so unlike me most of the time.    Here is the challenge

I went through all my list of challenges that are checked out at times, and could not find one that fit this card.  Believe it or not.  Am posting on fb as usual though

Whoo hoo, the rest of the markers are here.

Anyone who has known me since starting card making about 4 years ago knows that colouring is a favourite thing.

After life got in the way in early 2012. really did not do much until just recently.  One thing done was to purchase new markers that thought would have the colours missing in my loved Twin Touch. Maybe would get back to colouring for real. !!  Huge error in judgement on my part for sure.

Got thinking straight this last week about them, emailed a person at Shinhan about wanting to obtain the 36 new ones that had never been able to get here.  Within hours , with a couple of mails back and forth, a couple of calls from him, the new markers as well as 8 replaced for FREE were winging their way to me. They dried out over 3 years, and not being used for about 2 of them, so no reason for them to do that for me.  And given an excellent price on the new ones.   What doe that mean??  You got it -

100% + customer service.  Top quality markers.  What else can be said.

Why did I not do this immediately ???  Silly ole me thinking to try and use other ones.  :)

They arrived today!!!!! Even with the 4 day holiday of our postal system.

These markers are a joy to use, from the colouring to just being able to hold them properly.
The numbers are on the ends, and the middle of the back.  And the numbering system is so simple.  Check the colour on the swatch sheet made with them, go and pull that number.  Ye,s, they are coded, but you only need the number to find it, not the code.  Easy, simple and love it.   No sorting through lots to find the right one.

They also have a wee circle on them that actually says "Art & Creative Materials Institute Certified" on each marker.   How cool is that.  Certified for "artists" .  Since they have been around for 50 years, yes, they were originally for artists.

Package contents

Here is the comparison picture with a Copic  Almost exact same size.  A tad bit thicker if anything which may mean more ink.  :)

Here are the markers open for you to see the ends.  White is brush/broad, black is fine point/broad.

ok  That' s it .   Now to figure out which beautiful colour am picking to go with first for a new card.   Absolutely impressed with the new colours.  Actually all of them, but the additional ones are great.    204 colours, refills and nibs as well can be changed.

If you want to check them out go  here

The Crafter's Cafe Challenge 59 CAS

Hi All
Time for another post for  The Crafter's Cafe Challenge

This was a card that was exactly a Murphy's law card.   But finally up.
Had a digi picked of flowers, but when it did not come through, the woman giving them out after receiving from the sponsor very kindly sent me out this wee guy.  Thanks Cass
His is called "Best Man" and from the sponsor A Day for Daisies

Since this was one of a guy, thought it should be for a guy and what better than a simple manly thankyou card for participating in the wedding.   So this is it.

Stock:  Gina K Black, White
             SU smoky slate
Spellbinders ovals, large and small
Bitty Pearls from Close To My Heart
and of course
Markers:   Twin Touch.   CG 5 and 6 for his shoes
                  CG 0.5, CG1. CG2. CG3 for his suit
                   YR29, R28 for skin
                    BR107, BR97, BR95 for hair.
Not liking the hair, but time was not in my favour to redo.

Enjoy

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 50

Card in browns, mauve/pink colour

This was a fun card again.  The brown butterfly paper is shiny on the butterflies, and the large one is also glittered, but really did not show in any picture.

This camera is not working like the old one for taking the pictures, and they never seem to come out the same no matter what settings, so will just keep playing.

Stock,  Gina K Ivory
             Bazzill pink/mauve
DP:      Stash
Ribbon:   Elan   Again from fabric store
Butterfly stamp:  Have no idea.  Coloured it last year with the memento inks and sponges, but cannot find the stamp.
Glitter :  SU
Pearls:   CTMH

Here is the sketch and the challenge
